About the company: Import/ Export of Seafood
Location: Montague Gardens, Western Cape
Salary: Market related
Working Hours: 08h00 – 17h00 (may fluctuate based on production/operational demands)
Contract Type: Permanent (subject to a 6-month probation period)
Job Purpose
To ensure the secure transportation, loading, and offloading of seafood products in accordance with instructions, while upholding food safety, quality standards, and timely deliveries.
Minimum Requirements
• Matric or equivalent.
• Valid Code 14 Driver’s license with no endorsements.Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) will be advantageous.
At least 3-5 years’ experience in driving heavy-duty trucks and experience with a
Fuller gearbox (e.g. superlinks, interlinks, refrigerated trailers, etc.).• Experience with cold storage/refrigerated trucks will be advantageous.

- Be in excellent health and physically fit to handle the demands of heavy vehicle operation and potential loading/offloading of products, which includes passing a medical fitness evaluation, maintaining strictly sober habits and a professional demeanor.
- Have own reliable transport.
Key responsibilities:
- Safely driving the trucks (code 14) to transport products across long distances or local
routes.
- Monitor and control the temperature of the trailer during transit to ensure the
products remain at the required frozen or fresh temperature to avoid spoilage.
- Supervising or assisting with the loading/offloading of products, ensuring it is secured
and that cold-chain breaches are minimised during handling.
- Conducting mandatory pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking
refrigeration units, brakes, tyres, and lights, and reporting any defects immediately.
- Adhere to all traffic laws (Road Traffic Act), safety regulations (OHSA), and company-
specific health and safety policies.
- Accurately maintaining logbooks, managing delivery notes, invoices, and cold-chain
compliance paperwork (temperature logs).
- Planning efficient routes to ensure timely delivery, considering traffic, road
conditions, and necessary rest periods.
- Orderly return products from clients when not conforming to customer requirements.
- Notify Line Manager immediately if any delivery targets/deadlines cannot be met.
- Ensure that food safety and quality procedures are adhered to.
- Adhere to rules pertaining to the receiving areas of customers and/or suppliers.
