Location: Philippi, Western Cape 

Salary: Market related 

Industry: Seafood export/ import 

Permanent with 6-month probation period clause

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00

  • Saturdays: 08:30 – 13:00

  • Public Holidays: When needed, due to the nature of the industry

Job Purpose:

Manage the effective running of the department by achieving set targets without compromising on Food Safety or Quality.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Matric

  • Driver’s license and own transport

  • SAP experience (advantageous)

  • Cistech experience (advantageous)

 

Experience Needed:

  • At least 5 years of FMCG Food Retail experience

  • Experience in the seafood industry will be an added advantage


Requirements:

  • Must be experienced at managing people and in IR matters

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieving set sales and shop profitability targets

  • Monthly reporting on shop performance

  • Daily monitoring of the store’s turnover and gross profit

  • Manage 2 shops based in Cape Peninsula

  • Sales cold calling for new and existing clients for new business

  • Attend client meetings

  • Maintain GP and minimum pricing as instructed by management

  • Monthly stock takes, balancing and management thereof

  • Inventory control

  • Monitor internal and 3rd party purchasing of stock

  • Staff management and training

  • Ensure that health & safety regulations are practiced and adhered to within the shops

  • Market the company brand and products on all social media platforms

  • Ensure that shop management complies with company rules and regulations

  • Propose promotions to management and implement them as required
