Permanent with a 6-month probation period.

WORKING HOURS Monday – Friday: 08h00 – 17h30
Note: Hours may fluctuate due to operational requirements. Work on weekends and public holidays may be required. The successful candidate must be flexible

JOB PURPOSE

Support the HR Department and HR Officer in various administrative and operational tasks. Ensure that HR processes run smoothly and efficiently, in compliance with the company’s policies and labour legislation, while contributing to the overall effectiveness of the HR function within the company. This role involves handling a wide range of HR clerical duties.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Grade 12 with Mathematics as a subject.
• B.Com Degree or National Diploma in Human Resources.
• Computer literate in MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word.
• Knowledge of Sage 300 People, ESS and TracTech TRE/UNIS systems will be advantageous.

EXPERIENCE NEEDED

• At least 3 years’ relevant HR experience.
• Solid knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Labour Relations Act (LRA), Employment Equity Act (EEA) and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the onboarding process for new hires.
• Assist with the daily management of absenteeism for weekly and monthly staff (night shift and day shift), including processing and monitoring leave applications, following up on absconding employees, responding to WhatsApp messages, reporting, filing and related tasks.
• Maintain accurate employee records (physical and digital), manage HR information systems and ensure accurate data capturing.
• Serve as the first point of contact for general employee and manager enquiries, providing guidance on HR policies and escalating complex issues to the relevant parties.
• Ensure adherence to labour legislation and internal HR policies and assist with compiling HR statistics and reports.
• Assist with the investigation of grievances, counselling and industrial relations matters that have been raised, including issuing relevant disciplinary sanctions and completing and filing the required documentation.
• Assist with completing necessary IOD administration, online reporting, arranging medical appointments for employees and closing off WCA claims and reimbursements.
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating alcohol and/or drug testing procedures with employees and external service providers where applicable.
• Support the HR team in various administrative and ad hoc tasks or projects.
