JOB TITLE
Field Sales Operations Representative

Location: PaardenEiland, Western Cape 

Salary: Market-related 

Industry: Import/ Export of Seafood 

WORKING HOURS

  • 08h00 – 17h00, Monday – Friday

  • Saturday 09h00 – 13h00 (two Saturdays per month with one day off for Saturdays worked)

  • Weekends/overtime will be required due to the nature of the industry


JOB PURPOSE
Achieving set targets/budgets, maximizing turnover, sales profitability and growth within the assigned market by effectively selling the company’s products daily. 

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Matric

  • Tertiary education will be advantageous

  • General computer literacy at a minimum of intermediate level (Windows, MS Word, Excel)

  • Good knowledge and/or previous working experience of seafood products will be an advantage

EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • 3–5 years’ sales experience

  • SAP experience optional

  • Fully bilingual (English and Afrikaans)

  • Good communication & excellent customer service skills

  • Pleasant disposition

  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and multi-task

  • Problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent professional work standard, time management & organisational skills

  • Must be punctual

  • Detail driven

  • Team player who is also able to work individually

  • Driver’s Licence

  • Able to travel

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Achieve FLM weekly and monthly sales targets

  • Calling on stores to maximise sales opportunities

  • Store budgets to be used as a measurement and to be reached monthly to achieve overall FLM budget

  • Call on customers in a designated area as per a call cycle and provide feedback regarding store-specific issues and complete daily call cycle sheet

  • Liaising with the merchandising teams to ensure they are aligned with the company’s expectations

  • Ensuring all merchandising standards are adhered to and the merchandising teams are well equipped to execute in stores

  • Provide ongoing training for field staff and instore merchandisers

  • Communication and upkeep of promotions/product knowledge to team/field staff

  • Motivate the appointed sales team/field staff in your designated area to achieve set budgets

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with all customers and sales team/field staff

  • Gather feedback from customer complaints, queries and requests and ensure resolution

  • Ensure all listed/ranged lines are on display and correctly merchandised according to flows

  • Call on stores in all retail channels in SWD, Port Elizabeth & KZN regions (Coastal)

  • Plan trade visits with sales agents in the regions

  • Attend VTM Quarterly Cycle Brief

  • Submission of monthly CC recon – last Friday of every month
