SOURCING MAINTENANCE MANAGER - SINTER PLANT
R110K CTC
VAAL AREA
1. Education & Professional Qualifications (Minimum)
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Government Certificate of Competency (GCC Factories)
Formal maintenance management training (e.g. asset management, reliability, or maintenance planning fundamentals)
2. Experience (Minimum)
5-8 years maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment
At least 2 years in a maintenance leadership/management role
Proven experience in:
Continuous process plants (sinter, coke, blast furnace, power, cement, mining, etc.)
Managing large rotating and static equipment
Shutdown/major maintenance planning and execution
3. Technical Competence (Must Have)
Strong working knowledge of:
Sinter plant equipment (mixers, strand, ignition furnace, wind boxes, ESPs, fans, conveyors, screens)
Mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance principles
Maintenance strategies:
Preventive & predictive maintenance
Breakdown and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
Ability to interpret:
Engineering drawings
OEM manuals
Maintenance standards and procedures
4. Safety, Risk & Compliance (Non‑Negotiable)
Demonstrated leadership in safety-critical environments
Solid understanding of:
Legal compliance (OHS, plant regulations)
Permit-to-work systems
Risk assessments and HAZOPs
Track record of incident reduction and safe execution of maintenance work
5. Management & Leadership Skills (Minimum)
Proven ability to:
Lead multidisciplinary teams (artisans, planners, contractors)
Manage maintenance budgets and cost control
Set priorities under production pressure
Experience with:
Contractor management
Workforce planning and skills development
Performance management
